[It’s an abnormally quiet household for Edward and Winry today, now that the third member of their family is gone, and while he’d be content to keep his misery to himself in any other situation, this particular little person has made a huge impact in enough lives that it needs to be shared. So...]

Hey, Edward here. For everyone who knew her, Elicia Hughes was sent home.

There was some stuff here left for you, if you want to swing by sometime and pick it up.

[Ed’s going to be hanging around the house for most of the day, though by late afternoon he’ll be going to the Battle Dome to basically destroy everything he can get away with in the simulations until he drags himself home or is otherwise kicked out. In the evening, however, he's actually going to swing by the bar. Not for drinking, necessarily, it just seems like the place to go when you want to wallow.

He's only just finished his second year in Luceti, and this happens? Yeah, this week totally sucks.]

[It's fitting, really- she has her job to keep her distracted, and he has precious little else to do anyway, besides his research and training. And she'd been so much closer to Elicia than him.

Understandable. [And it made sense; she had a job she could somewhat pour her focus into, and not have to put up so much of a front for others while doing it.] I'll catch up with her at another time.

[Not to dwell, or anything, but just because Elicia wasn't the only reason why Raine had known Winry. It wasn't as if contact should stop just because the girl wasn't there, as strange as it might be. Everyone adjusted in time.]

Yes... I'm sure there must be a deeper meaning to it, why some do and others don't, but it's not one we've been able to determine here.

Somehow that just makes it all worse. You never know who or what you can trust.

It makes for a rather frustrating puzzle, knowing you only have part of the story and that it can be turned around any which way. Yet it's always these parts we cling to until something new happens. [She shakes her head.] ... Still, we have more options than we did in the past to learn, so there's that.

I haven't spoken to her directly, but she worked for Bil while he was here, taking requests for him and the like. Before that time, she was with the rogue scientists. I believe she might still be doing information exchanges now, within this village, though she tends to be elusive.
